In open intakes, vertical turbine pumps will be installed in wet pit. Based on specific project requirements, dry sump installation either with negative or positive suction lifts may be arranged. In those cases, dry installed pumps will be installed, either in horizontal or vertical arrangement. In sea water intakes from beach wells as well as for intakes for brackish water, typically from underground aquifers, borehole pumps will be used.
