BeyondPoly and Sulzer have signed the final acceptance certificate for the DEVO™ purification unit supplied by Sulzer. The certificate confirms that the system has been installed, tested, and is operating as intended at BeyondPoly's new POE plant. With the facility now operating at its planned production capacity, Sulzer's technology is performing a key purification step that helps ensure consistent product quality.

POE, the industrial gold
Polyolefin elastomer (POE) is a high-performance material, often referred to in Chinese media as "industrial gold", that combines the strength and processability of plastics with the elasticity and durability of rubber, but also exhibiting exceptional optical clarity thus ensuring a very high light transmittance. Thanks to these properties, it is well suited for applications that must withstand changing temperatures, mechanical stress, and long operating lifetimes, such as solar panels, electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and cables. Demand for POE has grown rapidly alongside the expansion of these industries. With a production capacity of 100,000 tons per year, BeyondPoly's new facility represents a significant addition to China's domestic supply of a key material for the country's industrial development.

During the production of POE, residual compounds remain in the material and must be removed before it is ready for use in demanding applications. Sulzer's DEVO™ purification technology is designed to perform this critical step while preserving the properties that make POE valuable for industrial applications. The system helps producers achieve consistent product quality, low residual volatile content, and energy-efficient operation at industrial scale. BeyondPoly selected Sulzer's solution based on its proven track record in similar applications, its ability to achieve lower residual volatile content, and its lower energy consumption compared with alternative technologies.
