Sustainability report 2021pdfLanguages:
Sulzer is perfectly on track to achieve its sustainability goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Sulzer’s first sustainability report, published this week, builds on the company’s global sustainability strategy. The plan is composed of four pillars: minimize Sulzer’s carbon footprint, enable a low-carbon society through our products and contributions to the circular economy, engage our employees and communities to build a safer, more inclusive, and more sustainable future, and govern according to best practices and the highest possible standards.
With the publication of this sustainability report and the achievements contained in it, Sulzer is further demonstrating its ESG leadership. Among a great many achievements detailed in the report, Sulzer achieved a 25% reduction in its CO2 equivalent emissions in 2021, despite rising orders and sales and record profitability. To achieve this, Sulzer launched a company-wide drive to decarbonize its energy use, leading to a 34% decrease in fossil fuel consumption and an impressive five-fold increase in the adoption of non-fossil energy sources.
Sulzer’s Chief Human Resources and Sustainability Officer, Armand Sohet, commented: “This sustainability report is a further testament to our leadership in building a sustainable future and our integration of ESG principles throughout our entire organization. I am extremely proud of what our team has achieved since introducing our sustainability strategy – with these accomplishments, we are well on the way to surpassing our target 30% reduction in emissions by 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.”
