Sulzer CATS presentation
Sulzer CATS monitoring in power plant

Attend our expert's presentation

There are multiple options to reduce NOx emissions for gas turbines, such as Selective Catalytic Reduction or Dry Low Emission, but they all have limitations. Adding steam or water into the combustion process (wet control) can lower the temperature of the burn and reduce NOx emissions. However, this can release additional carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons, increasing pollution.

A more viable solution will be dynamic closed-looped combustion auto-tuning, which will be presented and explored:

  • Pros and cons of conventional NOx reduction systems
  • Circular-based combustion auto-tuning features & benefits
  • Enabler for combustion stability and efficiency
  • Real-world applications showcase and more

About the speaker

Dai Yun Fei | Deputy General Manager (Commercial), Sulzer Services
An established gas turbine expert with more than 20 years of experience, Dai Yun Fei heads up Gas turbine business development and project management for Sulzer in the Asian markets. Yun Fei has extensive experience in in all things relating to gas turbine, from maintenance, diagnostics, commissioning, field services to engineering design and more. He held critical operational positions across various Chinese power plants as well as with Siemens, as its China service center commissioning manager.

Tapping on his extensive gas turbine engineering expertise and coupled with an investigative and operational agenda , Yun Fei spearheaded and developed the circular-based combustion auto-tuning system( Sulzer CATS) back in 2020, which was successfully commissioned in one of Sulzer’s customer’s plants in Jiangsu province- A first in China, of its kind. The plant became the first to comply with the ‘Stationary Gas Turbine Air Pollutant Emissions Standard” with a NOx emission limit of 30mg/m³

Yun Fei holds a Masters of Thermodynamic Engineering & Control from the prestigious Tsinghua University (China).
