High pressure pumps at the heart of your process

This is the heart of the SWRO desalination process, where the desalination effect takes place. The treated sea water is fed by means of the high pressure pumps into the RO membranes, obtaining permeate or product water and high pressure brine rejection, whose high pressure energy is recovered by selected Energy Recovery Device.

RO-Island high pressure pumps

RO Island design is defined by the raw water quality, the RO membranes used and the selected Energy Recovery Device.

Pumping services found in the RO Island will be the high pressure pumps, feeding the membranes and , when Energy Recovery Device based on Isobaric chamber technology is selected, the ERD Booster pump.

The next part of the Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) process is RO-Island ERD.

  • MBN-RO multistage ring section pump
    The MBN-RO is a configured, ring section, multistage pump specifically designed for high pressure membrane feed service in sea water Reverse Osmosis applications.

  • MSD-RO axially split multistage pump
    The MSD-RO is the result of Sulzer’s experience in supplying high pressure pumps for large SWRO plants worldwide, with a total of 2.5 million m3/d installed capacity. It is a two stage, split casing, single suction pump, mainly for high pressure membrane feed in SWRO desalination applications.

  • MBN multistage ring section pump
    The MBN pumps are ideal for use in medium-pressure applications. They have a big variety of nozzle position options, thus providing flexibility during installation and simplifying the piping design.

  • MC high pressure stage casing pump
    M-series pumps have a modular design thus allowing Sulzer to find the most efficient solution to meet customer requirements.

  • MSD axially split multistage pump
    The MSD pump has the broadest hydraulic coverage of any BB3 type multistage pump in the market. There are over 10 000 MSD pumps installed in product pipelines, boiler feed, water injection and even nuclear safety-related services around the globe.

  • HSB horizontal axially split single stage between bearing pump
    The HSB ISO 13709 / API 610 Type BB1 is an axially split, single stage, horizontal, between bearing pump. Many HSB pumps are in service on crude oil pipelines in many parts of the world. Its robust casing and custom hydraulics are specifically designed to meet project requirements.

  • BBS and CD between bearings single stage pumps
    The BBS and CD models are API 610 (ISO 13709) type BB2, single stage, radially split pumps. They offer the widest range of hydraulic performance in the industry.
