Isopropyl - Myristate, Palmitate and Laureate are used as emollients, thickening agents or lubricants in personal care products.
These specialty esters are commonly produced in two steps process : a batch reaction followed by a purification steps. Sulzer has developed a unique process based on reactive distillation technology that combines both process steps into one, enabling, for the first time, continuous productions of isopropyl-esters.
