Sulzer Chemtech will supply the state-owned BlueStar New Material Co. with engineering and equipment including crystallizers and components for distillation. At the new site in Nantong in Jiangsu Province, BlueStar Co. will produce Bisphenol A, which is used to make polycarbonate and engineering plastic for China’s booming automotive industry.
Sulzer Chemtech’s products and know-how lead to a more reliable process enabling BlueStar Co. to produce Bisphenol at higher purity and less energy consumption. The combination of technically advanced products for purification of organic chemicals with crystallization and distillation technology was the key factor to engage Sulzer.
