Tower Field Service of Sulzer Chemtech—Around the World, Around the Clock

Modern refineries are complex, with many—sometimes interdependent— processes, and any maintenance work has to be planned carefully to minimize production loss. Sulzer Chemtech’s Tower Field Service has been carrying out column services for more than 35 years.

Sulzer Chemtech is a global service provider to refineries and the petrochemical Industry

Refineries and petrochemical plants are often very complex, with a multitude of process steps depending on each other. Even though all refineries perform 3 basic steps—separation through fractional distillation, conversion by cracking and rearranging hydrocarbons, and treatment—there are literally hundreds of possible plant designs. Usually, large refineries are heavily integrated, and outages in one unit affect the operation of several other units of the plant. Refinery outages vary in size and timing and, while some are planned, unplanned outages occur as well. For over 35 years, Sulzer Chemtech’s tower field service group has been specialized in tower maintenance, revamps, and tray and packing installation.
