| Sulzer Pumps: New Service Center in India (31/01/2008, Technical News) |
|
|
Sulzer Pumps recently opened a new service center on the premises of the exiting manufacturing facility located on the outskirts of Mumbai (India). Built according to the division’s lean principles, the center is equipped with dedicated machining, weld repair, and assembly facilities. The center repairs and overhauls many pump types including ring section pumps, barrel casing pumps, and horizontal split case pumps. The easy access to the pump-testing facility in the manufacturing plant is a competitive advantage encouraging customers to use the new service center. Traditionally, major customers in India operated own repair shops. Clients now receive the new service center very well mainly due to OEM guarantees, the added feature of pump-testing capabilities, and much shorter turn-around time for repairs. | |
