Sulzer Hickham Inc. in Houston, a subsidiary of Sulzer Turbo Services, has received a significant order from a southern USA fertilizer producer to completely overhaul a Sulzer axial compressor rotor and carrier due to a blade failure. On arrival, the machine was disassembled and inspected. A new set of rotor blades will be required and manufactured at Sulzer Hickham Inc. The stator carrier will also be partially rebladed. After repairs, the rotor will be coated and balanced at operational speed before being reassembled into the carrier and returned to the client. | |
