Highest Global Reporting Initiative standard achieved
Sulzer released today its third full sustainability summary. The external auditor SGS confirmed its highest application level A+ of the Global Reporting Initiative. A systematic report, case studies, and comprehensive figures for all three dimensions of sustainability show that Sulzer has achieved or exceeded its economic, social, and ecological targets. Internal succession for Division President Sulzer Metco
Sulzer has appointed César Montenegro, currently Head of the Business Area North America of Sulzer Pumps, as new division president of Sulzer Metco and member of the executive committee of Sulzer. Strong adjusted growth of 15% in the first half of 2008
Sulzer is reporting a high order intake of CHF 2 265.9 million for the first six months of 2008. This represents an adjusted 1 increase of 14.9% and a nominal growth of 6.2% compared with the first half of the previous year. Henri Steinmetz, division president of Sulzer Metco and member of the executive committee of Sulzer since 2004, will leave Sulzer in July 2008 in order to pursue other opportunities outside of the company. Sulzer to supply pumps for 4 790 megawatt coal fired power station
Sulzer Pumps has received a large order from Alstom Power for pumps to be installed in the new Medupi coal fired power station, being built for Eskom, the South African national generator. The order includes a total of 48 pumps for boiler feed, booster, and condensate extraction duties.
