Christina Künzle appointed Head of Corporate Development at Sulzer

As of July 2002, Corporate Development at Sulzer will be headed by Christina Künzle, who is also appointed to the Executive Committee. Aged 46, she holds an MBA (INSEAD) and succeeds Patrick Kilchmann. Christina Künzle is currently managing director of Coutts Consulting (Switzerland and Germany), a specialized human resources consulting company. In July, she will start getting to know her new position, and depending on the transition at her present company, she will start at Sulzer fulltime in the fall.

Christina Künzle has a very successful track record over the last twenty years in various companies. Prior to joining the Coutts Consulting Group in 1996, she founded a technical and scientific consulting company and was human resources manager at Shell Switzerland, among others.

After many years with the Sulzer Corporation, Christina Künzle's predecessor Patrick Kilchmann has taken up a line management function in another company.

In the opinion of Sulzer CEO Fred Kindle: "Christina Künzle is a highly competent personality who fits outstanding into Sulzer's new management team. Her vast experience in human resources will greatly benefit the ongoing development of the Sulzer Corporation".

The Sulzer Corporation is comprised of the four core divisions Sulzer Metco (coating technologies and services), Sulzer Turbomachinery Services, Sulzer Pumps (including services), Sulzer Chemtech (process components and services) and the venture division Sulzer Hexis (fuel cell systems). Sales by the core divisions in 2001 totaled CHF 1875 million (in 2000: CHF 1603 million). The realigned Sulzer Corporation now employs about 10 000 people worldwide.
