A new test loop for the testing of multiphase pumps (MPP) for gas liquid mixtures has been installed in the development test bed in Winterthur (CH). It permits much higher pump running speeds and flow rates than the former loop, and therefore allows testing in an environment which is much closer to real plant conditions.

A client enlisted the services of Sulzer Elbar, a subsidiary of Sulzer Turbo Services, in order to repair the generator rotor of a MS9001 gas turbine, which had been damaged as a result of a bearing failure and had one badly damaged journal with a deep score in its center.
