Together with Sulzer Innotec, Sulzer Metco took into operation a facility for state-of-the-art gas-vacuum atomization for new alloy development and experimental purposes. These new capabilities allow Sulzer Metco to produce experimental quantities of high-quality, spherical metal and alloy powders for a variety of applications in the aviation industry, for industrial gas turbines, and others.

Sulzer Turbo Services

In December 2006, Sulzer Enpro, an American subsidiary of Sulzer Turbo Services, completed the retrofit of a reciprocating-engine start system for a major pipeline-operating customer in the US state of Georgia. This Altronic SaveAir System requires 60% less air to start the engine, giving more starts with less air. This reduction enables operation without the need for additional costly air compressors.

Sulzer Metco inaugurated its new manufacturing operation in Chennai, India, on May 1st, 2007. The plant is located in the state of Tamil Nadu, known as the “Detroit of India,” due to the presence of several global automotive manufacturers including Ford, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, and Visteon.

Sulzer Pumps just released of the new hydraulic selection program, Sulzer Select. Sulzer Select allows customers to select pumps and print curves as well as datasheets online. With Sulzer Select, customers can make quick, accurate pump selections and produce PDF output of the resulting performance curve and data.
