| Record at Sulzer Hexis: one million operating hours |

| Sulzer Hexis advanced well in 2004. Altogether, the one hundred installed fuel cell systems ‘HXS 1000 Premiere’ exceeded one million operating hours under real-life conditions. In applications for single-family homes, Sulzer Hexis is worldwide leading with this kind of achievement. Several units are operating for more than 10’000 hours already. This is an important prerequisite for series production and market introduction and supports the selection of potential partners. | |

| Sulzer Hexis achieved a unique milestone: under real-life condition, 100 fuel cell systems 'HXS 1000 Premiere' accumulated more than one million operating hours. These systems are placed in selected private homes in Europe. The general feedback from utilities and end users are positive with respect to reliability and function. In parallel, a new system generation called 'Galileo' with substantially improved performance data has been developed. This system is smaller, its manufacturing costs approximately 50 % less, and it is easier to operate than the predecessor 'HXS 1000 Premiere'. It will be launched at the Hannover Messe in April 2005. Both, the achieved operational milestones and improved 'Galileo' modules are the result of the foreseen steps to focus Sulzer Hexis on series production and market introduction. As previously announced Sulzer is in the process of selecting partners to participate entrepreneurially and financially in order to further develop Sulzer Hexis. Sulzer is hereby being supported by an investment bank. |
