Sulzer Board of Directors Proposes Four Members for Re-election to the Annual General Meeting—Renova Does not Support Re-election of Ulf Berg and Daniel J. Sauter

The board of directors of Sulzer proposes Ulf Berg, Daniel J. Sauter, Vladimir V. Kuznetsov and Urs Andreas Meyer for re-election as members of the board at the forthcoming annual general meeting of Sulzer on April 8, 2009 for a three-year term of office.

Renova, the single largest shareholder of Sulzer with 27.1% of all shares at the end of 2008, has informed the board and the corporation that Renova currently does not support the re-election of Ulf Berg and Daniel J. Sauter to the Sulzer board.

The board memberships of Ulf Berg, chairman of the board, Daniel J. Sauter, Vladimir V. Kuznetsov and Urs Andreas Meyer expire under their regular terms at the ordinary annual general meeting of Sulzer on April 8, 2009. Beginning with this date Renova is not restricted in voting on these re-elections at shareholder meetings according to the agreement between Sulzer and Renova signed in October 2007.
