| Sulzer Pumps Opened New Service Center in Brazil (16/09/2008, Technical News) |
|
|
In late 2007, Sulzer Pumps opened a new service center with about 30 employees inside a major Brazilian steel plant. Previously, each pump supplier had been responsible for its own pump maintenance. The customer decided to delegate the maintenance of 864 pumps of various brands in one specific area of the plant to just one service provider. In a competitive bid, Sulzer Pumps obtained the contract. Sulzer Pumps is responsible for the maintenance of the pumps, which is divided in 2 phases. Sulzer Pumps handles the routine regular predictive maintenance, where a field team covers the area and is responsible for lubrication and small repairs, and the corrective maintenance performed in the shop, where the division is responsible for situation report, parts manufacturing, services, and field commissioning. | |
